Developing a Marketing Plan
Jim Moran College of Entrepenuership - Marketing Intern
I began working at Florida State University Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship In August of 2022 through the Intern FSU program. During my fall internship, I heavily focused on data collection and research. I was brought back in the spring to continue my work and collaborate with full-time employees to develop a new marketing plan for the college.

The Marketing plan includes strategy and guidelines that will assist the college in the efforts to improve and grow over the next five to ten years. I am still working with the marketing team to perfect the plan, and I anticipate it to be completed in the coming weeks. Below displays the aspects of the project I contributed to and the process.
Step 1 - Know the Competitors
The first step when developing a successful marketing plan is understanding your market. As an Advertising major at Florida State University, I was very unfamiliar with the Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship and this gave me a blank page to start with. I began Compiling a list of the top-rated (rated annually by the Princeton Review) entrepreneurship programs, schools, and colleges across the United States. This includes their social media, website, and other assets.
This list included a list of the top 40 schools rated by the Princeton Review. In 2021 FSU Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship was rate #40.

Step 2 - Market Research
After compiling the list of the top 40 entrepreneurship schools, I began researching all aspects of their online presence. I conducted a deep dive into their website, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other platforms (such as YouTube). Throughout this process I learned more about how often they post, what they post, and how they interact with their followers.
I organized my takeaways in an Excel document and would inform my supervisors of my findings weekly. I had many ideas for social media that we would later implement in our marketing plan. I communicated my ideas with my team and received feedback as I continued my research.

Step 3 - Develop Strategic Goals and Action Plans
After conducting my research it was time to focus on the FSU program specifically. We started with the Jim Moran mission statement “Inspiring innovation, instilling compassion, and igniting an entrepreneurial mindset in the next generation of leaders.” It was important that we keep in mind the mission statement when developing the strategic goals to make sure that they align with the values of the college.
We decided to develop our strategic goals under the colleges' values of Cultivate, Innovate, Collaborate, Incubate, and Elevate. We then further expand the categories by writing three to five goals and an action plan of how to achieve those goals.
I collaborated weekly in developing these goals and action plans with my supervisors. We continually went back and forth till we believed that our ideas, goals, and action plans accurately described what we were trying to achieve for the college in the next coming years

Step 3 - Develop Branding and Style Guide
After defining the strategic goals and action plans I began to outline a set of guidelines that would accurately reflect the FSU Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship.

Next, I defined the various elements in the style guide, such as the company's logos, color palette, and typography. I worked to ensure that each element was consistent with the brand identity and would be easily understood. I also included when each variable should be used and in what format to ensure consistency across all social media platforms.

Brag House Graphic Work
Brag House - Marketing and Graphic Design Intern
Brag House is a company that fosters a community of casual esports gamers, streamers, and fans to connect and play.

At Brag House I worked with a team to develop new branding guide lines to better fit the electric and competitive feel of the brand. I created unique works that are specific to Brag House and the new brands style guide, while also contributing to the social media presence with marketing strategies.

Through out my internship I had the opportunity to work with McDonalds, Jordan Belfort, and various universities across the country that have allowed me to continue develop my skills and taught me how to cohesively blend two brands togethers for advertising and design campaigns.
